The project includes two segments:
1) Preparing the database of restaurants and catering services in the Diaspora and creating the subpage for "gastronomic" linking of the diaspora with its native country
2) Organization of culinary workshops in Serbia and abroad to promote the Serbian culture and tradition, and indirectly, Serbian tourism.
The idea for this project was born during the conference entitled "Diaspora and Tourism" organized by the Office for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the region in which the applicants of this project distributed the calendars "Belgrade from Another Angle" and provided authentic reception for conference participants.
The project is, on the one hand, aimed at professionals from the Diaspora who work at, or own certain restaurants and catering services in the Diaspora. On the other side, it is aimed at the diaspora interested to learn about the culture and traditions of the Serbian people in the authentic atmosphere of culinary workshops.
The project implementation begins after the formal signing of the contract at the end of January and will run until the end of April 2015. With the support of the Office for Cooperation with Diaspora and Serbs in the Region and the Center for Cooperation with the Diaspora of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, culinary workshop participants from the diaspora and their friends will be introduced to the preparation of culinary specialties with the Serbian spirit and will feel the quality of traditional life.
Thanks to the systematized database of restaurants and catering services in the diaspora, members of the diaspora will get acquainted with the Serbian culinary delights outside of Serbia. In addition, the owners and workers of the restaurants and catering services in the Diaspora will be able to exchange information relevant to their businesses and to better connect with their native country, indirectly promoting tourism and cultural offer of Serbia.
